On the morning of June 4, Guizhou Yueneng and CNPC’s Southwest Chemical Sales Company held a signing ceremony on-site for the purchase of ethylene glycol. Nie Jianhua, deputy general manager of Guizhou Yueneng, and Liu Guoqiang, deputy general manager of PetroChina Southwest Chemical Sales Company, signed the ethylene glycol distribution contract as representatives of their respective companies. The cooperation project between the two parties this time is the distribution rights for ethylene glycol in the southwest region for Qianxi Coal Chemical. Relying on the customer and sales network built over 20 years by PetroChina’s Southwest market, Guizhou Yueneng sells the 300,000 tons per year of coal-based ethylene glycol produced by Qianxi Chemical to the Southwest region. Through enhanced cooperation between the two parties, CNPC can increase its revenue, while Guizhou Yueneng can also achieve better results, thereby effectively alleviating the operational difficulties faced by businesses due to low prices of ethylene glycol. Just this alone, Guizhou Yueneng is expected to generate additional revenue of over 10 million yuan per year. PetroChina Southwest Chemical Sales Company was established in 2001. It is primarily responsible for the wholesale distribution of chemical products as well as their transportation in six provinces (municipalities, regions) including Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, and Tibet. The company deals with nearly 200 different grades of chemical products, and it holds a market share of over 80% in the sales of ethylene glycol in the southwest region. The ethylene glycol project of Xi Coal Chemical Industry is funded and constructed by Henan Energy and Chemical Group, with a total investment of around 5.45 billion yuan. Donghua Technology is responsible for the overall construction, and the main manufacturing process involves the use of high-chemical CTEG syngas to produce ethylene glycol. The total investment in the gasification facility is approximately 720 million yuan, with 3 2800/3200-type space furnaces provided as supporting equipment. Using local anthracite as the raw material coal, products such as ethylene glycol are produced through a series of processes. After the project is implemented, in addition to an annual production of 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol, it will also be possible to produce 41,200 tons of sulfuric acid, 432 tons of fore-run, 8,992 tons of fusel oil, 13,440 tons of light fractions, 6,048 tons of heavy fractions, 5,336 tons of DMO reconstituted fractions, and 17,576 tons of crude DMC.
