Author/Source: Date: 2022-11-22 Clicks: 19 After 6 months of intensive construction, the civil work for the first phase of Xinjiang Zhongtai Jinhui Technology Co., Ltd.’s BDO plant – which has an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of BDO – the largest BDO project in Southern Xinjiang, is now entering its final stages, with equipment installation underway on a full scale. After the project goes into operation in October 2023, its annual revenue will reach 4 billion yuan. The first phase of the Xinjiang Zhongtai Jinhui Technology Co., Ltd. project, which involves a BDO production facility with an annual output of 600,000 tons, has a total investment of 5.12 billion yuan. It includes a BDO production plant with an annual output of 300,000 tons, facilities for producing 120,000 tons of calcium carbide acetylene per year, three plants for producing formaldehyde from methanol at a rate of 240,000 tons per year each, and facilities for producing hydrogen from natural gas at a rate of 28,000 Nm3/h. Additionally, it includes various utility systems and auxiliary production facilities necessary for the operation of these plants. It is reported that BDO’s upstream resources include coal mines, calcium carbide, maleic anhydride, and power plants, while its downstream products include PTMEG (poly**furan), PBAT (polybutylene terephthalate adipate), GBL (1,4-butanedione), and others. The future demand growth for BDO will come mainly from PBAT and GBL; the former is used in biodegradable plastics, while the latter is used in lithium batteries for new energy applications. Both fall under the category of emerging materials and are considered **projects that should be promoted for development**. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in October 2023; by then, it will be able to generate an annual revenue of 4 billion yuan and annual profits and taxes of 920 million yuan, while also creating more than 970 direct jobs.
