According to news from Inner Mongolia Jiu Tai at the beginning of June 2025, the coal slurry concentration project for the company’s gasification unit was successfully put into operation. At present, the coal slurry concentration unit is operating well; the equipment runs smoothly, the system has a high degree of automation, and significant improvements have been achieved in terms of energy savings and production output. After the modification, the average concentration of coal slurry increased by 3 percentage points. At the same time, the effective gas content increased from around 79.5% to around 80.5%. In terms of production, the daily methanol output increased by 6.7%, while the oxygen consumption, coal consumption, and electricity consumption per ton of methanol all decreased significantly; the coal consumption per ton of methanol dropped by about 30 kg. It took 100 days for the project to go from commencement to operation. Neimenggu JiuTai utilizes the coal slurry concentration technology provided by Jiangsu Hengfeng Nenghuan Technology Co., Ltd., with the design carried out by the North China branch of Gulf Engineering Co., Ltd. Jiutai in Inner Mongolia uses multi-component slurry gasification for 1 million tons of methanol production.
