On June 15, the spherical grid structure for Circular Coal Yard No. 2 was successfully completed; with this, all three spherical grid structures for the coal transfer island have now been installed. The net internal span of the spherical grid structure in the circular coal storage area of the coal transfer island is 105.2 m, with a maximum structural height of 57.15 m. The grid structure is connected using orthogonally arranged tetrahedral bolted ball joints; it adopts a spatial truss configuration with point support for the lower chord columns. Electrically welded steel pipes and hot-rolled seamless steel pipes are used in its construction. The designed maximum deflection is 103.1 mm, and each coal bin can store 100,000 tons of coal.
