Membrane technology is quite advanced and very effective for treating drinking water. But if it is industrial wastewater, using it becomes more complicated. First, you need to clarify the water; the metal ions in it, especially heavy metal ions, must be removed thoroughly, otherwise they can easily contaminate and damage the membrane. In operation, the membrane needs to be replaced frequently, which may result in high costs. These are just my personal humble opinions.
