On October 28, Hubei Yihua announced in the evening that its holding subsidiary, Yihua Fluorochemicals, plans to invest in the construction of a project for producing 20,000 tons per year each of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, which is complementary to wet-process phosphoric acid production. The total investment is estimated at approximately 1.002 billion yuan; The wholly-owned subsidiary, Fine Chemicals Company, plans to invest in the construction of a project to upgrade the production capacity of pentaerythritol, with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons; the total investment amount is approximately 698 million yuan. Anhydrous hydrogen fluoride project: Project name – 2×30,000 tons/year anhydrous hydrogen fluoride project as a complement to wet phosphoric acid production. Project investment amount: The total estimated investment for the project is around 1.002 billion yuan. Project location: Tianjiahe area, Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Yichang City. The announcement states that this project is located adjacent to the company’s phosphorus chemical production facility, and it can take advantage of the storage and transportation facilities as well as certain auxiliary facilities available at that facility, in order to reduce project investment costs and lower production expenses. Project timeline: The construction period is expected to be around two years, with construction planned in two phases. In this regard, Phase 1 will involve the construction of a facility capable of producing 30,000 tons per year of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride along with related equipment, while Phase 2 will be carried out at an appropriate time based on market demand. Market prospects for the product: This project uses fluorosilicic acid, which is a by-product of wet phosphoric acid production, as raw material. By employing a method of concentrating and decomposing fluorosilicic acid, two sets of facilities capable of producing 30,000 tons per year of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride along with related equipment will be built in phases. The process technology is advanced, and the cost of raw materials is low. It is expected that the product will have strong profitability once the project is operational, offering good prospects for market development. Hydrogen fluoride is the foundation of modern fluorine chemistry; it is the most basic raw material for producing elemental fluorine, various fluorinated refrigerants, and new fluorine-containing materials. By converting fluorosilicic acid, which has low added value in the phosphorus chemicals industry, into hydrogen fluoride with high added value, enterprises can achieve greater economic benefits. The announcement states that Hubei Yihua is constructing a project in the Tianjiahe area of the Yaojiagang Chemical Park in Yichang City, aimed at producing 200,000 tons per year of refined phosphoric acid and 650,000 tons per year of phosphoric ammonium, as well as carrying out upgrades to related facilities (hereinafter referred to as the “phosphorus chemical project”). Additionally, a project for producing chemical raw materials needed for integrated battery materials is also being developed by Bampu Yihua; the by-product fluorosilicic acid from the aforementioned projects can be used as a source of raw material for this project. Hubei Yihua states that this project makes full use of the company’s advantages in terms of raw material resources, industrial foundation, as well as Duofluoride’s technical and market strengths. By establishing a production base for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, it plays a positive role in extending the industrial chain, optimizing the industrial structure, and promoting a circular economy. Pentanol upgrading project. Project name: Project for the upgrading of pentanol production capacity to 40,000 tons per year. Project investment amount: According to the project feasibility study report, the total investment for this project is estimated to be around 698 million yuan. Project location: Tianjiahe area, Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Yichang City. This industrial park is a specialized chemical industry base focused on the chemical sector; it has adequate support in terms of utilities such as water and electricity. Shipping along the Yangtze River, as well as railway and road transportation, are all convenient, which results in low costs for the supply of raw materials and the distribution of products. Thus, it enjoys a significant advantage in terms of overall costs. Project timeline: The construction period is expected to be about 1 year. It is understood that, in response to the **\"Comprehensive Protection of the Yangtze River\" policy, the pentaerythritol production facility of Hubei Yihua Yidu Branch, which is located within 1 kilometer of the Yangtze River, must be relocated by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, Hubei Yihua has established chlor-alkali and coal chemical projects in the Tianjiahe area of the Yaojiagang Chemical Park in Yichang City, capable of supplying raw materials and auxiliary materials such as liquid caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, and deionized water, as well as energy sources like electricity and steam. Hubei Yihua stated that by building this project in the industrial park to replace the existing production capacity, the company can not only meet **environmental regulations** but also enhance the competitiveness of its fine chemical products in the market by utilizing advanced equipment and technologies, optimizing various cost factors, and improving the product portfolio. Regarding the prospects for its products, Hubei Yihua stated that the company currently has a production capacity of 60,000 tons per year for pentaerythritol. Through years of development, it has established a stable marketing network, with its products being exported to Asia, Europe, Australia and other regions. This project uses methanol, acetaldehyde, and liquid caustic soda as its main raw materials. By employing a more advanced new process, the product structure has been further optimized. It produces pentaerythritol and dipentaerythritol in 95%, 98%, and 99% purity grades, thereby establishing a diverse product line of micronized pentaerythritol. Additionally, the high-content sodium formate and liquid pentaerythritol generated as by-products are utilized to expand and enrich the overall product portfolio. Once the project is put into operation, it is expected to enhance the product’s competitive advantages, increase its share in the high-end market, and strengthen the company’s leading position in this industry segment.
