Announcement on the completion inspection of Changshu Sainfu Fluorine Chemicals’ projects, including one producing 6,000 tons of VDF per year! 2025-04-23 13:13:02 On April 22, the environmental impact assessment report regarding the completion of the technical upgrade project at Changshu Sanaifu Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd., which aims to increase annual production of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) by 6,000 tons and that of hydrochloric acid as a by-product by 32,500 tons, was made public. In 2021, Sanai Fu invested 230 million RMB to carry out a technical upgrade project at its existing facility in the Changshu New Materials Industrial Park, aiming to achieve an annual production capacity of 6,000 tons of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and 32,500 tons of hydrochloric acid as by-products. At the same time, the existing production capacity at the plant was reduced: the production of F141b was cut by 17,368 tons per year, along with 1,058.82 tons per year of the associated by-product F142b and 403.16 tons per year of mixed acid. The production of HFP was reduced by 2,000 tons per year, TFE (an intermediate product) by 2,666.67 tons per year, and the production of hydrochloric acid as a by-product by 17,700 tons per year. Construction of this project began in 2021; equipment installation was completed on August 2, 2022. It was finished in May 2024, and official commissioning and production started on May 18, 2024. The contents of this acceptance inspection include: the environmental impact assessment report for the technical upgrade project of Changshu Sanaifu Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd., which aims to produce 6,000 tons of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) per year along with 32,500 tons of hydrochloric acid as by-product, as well as the construction work corresponding to the approvals granted for this project. The main project, auxiliary utility systems, as well as various environmental protection facilities for treatment have all been completed and put into use simultaneously. At present, the actual production capacity has reached over 75% of the design scale specified in the acceptance requirements; all types of environmental protection facilities and the main engineering structures are operating normally, meeting the conditions for the \"three simultaneities\" acceptance monitoring. It has been confirmed that the project has been carried out in accordance with the requirements set out in the environmental impact assessment documents and those issued by the approving authorities. By making use of the existing environmental protection facilities, and upgrading some of them through the replacement of older facilities with newer ones, the environmental protection measures were put into use simultaneously with the main construction of the project. This project does not fall under any of the nine circumstances specified in the Interim Measures for the Environmental Protection Acceptance upon Completion of Construction Projects that would result in a rejection of the environmental protection acceptance; therefore, the environmental protection facilities for the technical upgrade project of Changshu Sanefu Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd., which involves an annual production capacity of 6,000 tons of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and 32,500 tons of hydrochloric acid as by-products, have passed the environmental protection acceptance inspection.
