On July 1, the Zibo Ecology and Environment Bureau planned to publish a public notice regarding its approval decision on the environmental impact assessment document for the upgrade project of Shandong Aofan New Materials Co., Ltd.’s 34,000 tons per year fourth-generation new fluorine material production facility (Phase I). This project involves upgrading the existing facility for the co-production of trichlorofluoropropene, tetrafluoropropene, and pentafluoropropane, as well as adding new equipment for the separation and purification of tetrafluoropropene along with related auxiliary facilities, in order to optimize the production process and product structure. Upon completion of the project, the plant will maintain its total production capacity at 16,000 tons per year. The product structure will be optimized to feature a flexible production capacity of 10,000 tons per year for monochlorotrifluoropropene, 5,000 tons per year (as the maximum) for pentafluoropropane, and 5,000 tons per year (as the maximum) for tetrafluoropropene. As by-products, approximately 69,107.83 tons per year of 31% hydrochloric acid and approximately 1,900.36 tons per year of 30% hydrofluoric acid will be produced.
