Hubei Yihua: Investing in the construction of a 2×30,000 tons/year anhydrous hydrogen fluoride production facility! On October 28, Hubei Yihua issued a announcement stating that its holding subsidiary, Hubei Yihua Fluorine Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yihua Fluorine Chemical”), would invest in the construction of a 2×30,000 tons per year anhydrous hydrogen fluoride production facility to support the wet phosphoric acid production process. The project is expected to require an investment of 1 billion yuan. Using fluorosilicic acid, which is a by-product of wet phosphoric acid, and employing the fluorosilicic acid concentration and decomposition method, two sets of facilities capable of producing 30,000 tons per year of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride along with related equipment will be built in phases. The construction period is estimated to be around two years, with the project to be carried out in two stages. In the first phase, a facility with an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride along with associated equipment will be built, while the second phase will be carried out at an appropriate time based on market demand. The announcement states that Hubei Yihua is constructing a project in the Tianjiahe area of the Yaojiagang Chemical Park in Yichang City to produce 200,000 tons per year of refined phosphoric acid, as well as a project for the relocation and upgrading of 650,000 tons per year of phosphate ammonium production facilities; in addition, there is also a project aimed at developing integrated chemical raw materials for battery manufacturing by Bangpu Yihua. The by-product of these projects, fluosilicic acid, can be used as a raw material for the production of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. This project makes full use of Hubei Yihua’s advantages in raw material resources, industrial foundation, as well as Multifluoride’s technical and market strengths; by establishing a production base for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, it plays a positive role in extending the industrial chain, optimizing the industrial structure, and achieving a circular economy.
