On the evening of November 17, Yongtai Technology issued a statement stating that the trial production plan for the project of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Inner Mongolia Yongtai Chemical Co., Ltd., to produce 5,000 tons of lithium battery additives per year, had been approved by experts on that day; the conditions for trial production were now met, and trial production would commence. This project originated from the project plans approved by the company’s board of directors in 2021, including those for Inner Mongolia Yongtai to produce 25,000 tons of VC and 5,000 tons of FEC per year. The line capable of producing 5,000 tons per year of VC (vinylene carbonate), a lithium battery additive, is the one that has entered the trial production phase this time. Future capacity expansions for this project will depend on market demand and the release of capacity in the industry. The company states that with the addition of 5,000 tons per year in production capacity, its total VC production capacity will reach 10,000 tons per year. This production start-up will further enhance the company’s VC production capacity and its advantages in terms of scale, strengthen its business development in the lithium battery materials sector, consolidate its position in the industry and its market share, and contribute to improving the company’s overall competitiveness and profitability in the market. In addition, the company’s production capacity for lithium hexafluorophosphate is 18,000 tons per year, and the current capacity utilization rate is at a reasonable level. The company will continue to arrange production based on market demand. In terms of orders, the company actively maintains cooperation with its downstream customers to continuously expand the market.
