I would like to ask the experts here: one of the auxiliary materials used in our facility is liquid chlorine. When dealing with materials contained in pipelines filled with liquid chlorine, vacuuming is typically used to remove the liquid chlorine, and sodium sulfite is added to the vacuum system to eliminate it. However, this method does not yield good results; every time liquid chlorine-containing materials are processed on site, there is a strong odor of liquid chlorine. I wonder if any expert knows of better methods for dealing with liquid chlorine. Thank you!
There are a few more stages in the sodium sulfite tower, and finally it is treated with a modified activated carbon tower.
Strong heat is released during absorption, so it is important to use reflux cooling at the top of the tower. Additionally, there are requirements regarding the concentration of the absorption mother liquor. The amount of liquid chlorine you have seems to be quite large; make sure to control the absorption rate as well as the concentration and quantity of the alkaline solution.
