Recently, **information from the Intellectual Property Office shows that Shandong Dongyue Polymer Materials Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application for \"branched perfluoropolyether phosphate compounds, compositions, and their preparation methods and applications\"; the application’s publication number is CN121779703A, and the application date is October 2025. The patent abstract states that this invention belongs to the field of organic synthesis, and specifically relates to branched perfluoropolyether phosphate compounds, compositions thereof, as well as their preparation methods and applications. This invention uses perfluoropolyether alcohols as raw materials, and through reactions such as substitution and borohydration, branched perfluoropolyether phosphate compounds are obtained. The resulting compound features branched perfluoropolyether chains; upon curing, these branched perfluoropolyether groups remain on the surface of the metal substrate, forming a dense perfluoropolyether film layer that provides excellent hydrophobicity, oleophobicity, and smoothness. Additionally, when subjected to stress, the branched perfluoropolyethers help to convert or release energy more rapidly, thereby enhancing the abrasion resistance of the coating. The lone pairs of electrons on the phosphorus and oxygen atoms in the phosphate groups at the molecule’s ends can undergo specific adsorption with the empty orbitals of the atoms on the surface of the metal substrate. Meanwhile, the hydroxyl groups at the molecule’s ends can also bond with the hydroxyl groups on the substrate surface to form hydrogen bonds, thereby securing a strong attachment to the substrate and creating a dense phosphate protection layer with excellent protective properties.
