Dear experts, I would like to ask under what circumstances is it necessary to install an oil feeding pump or a lubrication pump – is it based on process calculations or does the size of the pump need to be taken into account?

The setting of the oil pump is determined by the requirements of the equipment; “oil feeding” can be divided into feeding glycerin and feeding light oil, and it can further be categorized as intermittent feeding of glycerin or continuous feeding of light oil. Glycerin-based lubricants are used in regular feeding systems; thin oil is also employed, along with slip rings and oil-supplying bearings for semi-submerged lubrication. For rotor bearings that operate under high speeds and heavy loads, oil is necessary to carry away the heat generated by friction, which requires the use of a thin oil pump to provide continuous oil supply. This pump serves three purposes: it supplies lubricant to the rotor bearings, removes mechanical impurities, and carries away heat. An oil mist pump is not used in large lubrication systems in isolation; it requires a corresponding oil station that consists of a reservoir, an oil pump, filters, a cooler, stop valves, check valves, pressure reducing valves, return valves, as well as related instruments and control mechanisms.

Xie Laoge replied. However, what I say might differ from what you said; I am referring to the low-head pump that feeds oil to the main oil transfer pump at the starting station of long-distance pipelines, not lubrication pumps or anything of the sort.
