Glycerin-based lubricants are used in regular feeding systems; thin oil is also employed, along with slip rings and oil-supplying bearings for semi-submerged lubrication. For rotor bearings that operate under high speeds and heavy loads, oil is necessary to carry away the heat generated by friction, which requires the use of a thin oil pump to provide continuous oil supply. This pump serves three purposes: it supplies lubricant to the rotor bearings, removes mechanical impurities, and carries away heat. An oil mist pump is not used in large lubrication systems in isolation; it requires a corresponding oil station that consists of a reservoir, an oil pump, filters, a cooler, stop valves, check valves, pressure reducing valves, return valves, as well as related instruments and control mechanisms.
