Safe unloading at the dock: \"After the loading and unloading operations using the dock’s oil transfer arm are completed, residual oil remains in the arm. The standard method for dealing with this is to use nitrogen to blow the remaining oil from the arm into the ship’s hold.\" My question is whether the residual oil in the oil transfer arm can be blown into the ship’s cabin using compressed air. At the terminal where I work, compressed air is consistently used to blow out residual kerosene, gasoline, and fuel oil from the oil transfer arms into the ship’s holds. Which standard and its corresponding clause should I refer to in order to address this incorrect practice? ?
