Maoming Petrochemical Holds a Equipment Specialization Competition

On July 26, the 2025 Equipment Professional Competition of Maoming Petrochemical was launched with great enthusiasm. This competition aims to promote learning and practice through competition, to reinforce the concept that talents must be developed through one’s own efforts, and to enhance the professional skills of equipment personnel. It serves to provide strong impetus for improving the equipment management level and fostering high-quality development at Maoming Petrochemical. The competition saw 16 teams formed based on the operation departments, with 4 members in each team, for a total of 64 participants. Each team consists of 1 equipment operator recommended by the Operations Department, 1 equipment specialist from the talent pool, and 2 equipment operators selected randomly by the competition committee. The competition includes theoretical tests, practical operations, fault detection, and physical fitness exercises, aiming to assess contestants’ comprehensive skills from multiple perspectives. It is reported that Maoming Petrochemical began preparing for the competition last November, formulating a detailed plan based on the actual circumstances. It organized 15 themed \"Weekly Training Sessions\" for theoretical learning, irregular online drills, as well as specialized training in the disassembly and assembly of pumps, mechanical seals, and valves, thus laying a solid foundation for the successful holding of the competition.
