Why is a gas-phase equilibrium line required in the sulfur flue gas absorption tower, whereas it is not present in units such as the solvent regeneration tower? Why? ? ?
This is mainly used when there is an excessive amount of liquid in the gas phase within the absorption tower, and it cannot be removed through the discharge opening at the spherical bottom portion of the rise pipe at the upper part of the tower; this tube is then used to transfer the liquid from the upper part of the tower to its lower part. Therefore, if you look at the equipment diagram, the name of the port in this area is Amine Liquid Inlet/Outlet
It causes liquid entrainment and backflow to balance the pressure.
