Small leaks can also be sealed with washers; appropriate padding and bolts are used on the inside, along with nuts on the outside, so no welding is required! That’s exactly how the experienced workers did it when I first started working!
Steam purging; air samples are taken before hot work to analyze benzene content, and monitors are used during the hot work
If it is possible to resolve the issue through non-welding repair methods, it is preferable to avoid welding; even using steam cleaning does not provide a high level of safety, so welding should not be used as a solution. Additionally, there are significant risks throughout the benzene removal tower, both inside and outside the tower.
