The lifting of the nitrogen stripping tower for the methanol purification unit in the Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. was completed. On the morning of August 9, after more than an hour of continuous work, the lifting of the nitrogen stripping tower for the methanol purification unit in the phase-one completion project of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (the Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) was finished. This is the first tower unit to be lifted using this equipment, completing the task 30 days ahead of schedule. It is understood that the nitrogen stripping tower arrived at the construction site on August 6. After welding the ladder platform attached to the tower, the personnel from the methanol project team worked closely with the lifting crew from the construction company to resolve the issues related to the lifting site. At the same time, safety and technical instructions were provided to ensure that all relevant tasks were carried out properly. It is reported that after the installation of the ladder and platform attached to it, the nitrogen stripping tower weighs 31 tons and has a total length of 27.95 meters. This lifting operation not only created space for the lifting of other towers but also provided valuable experience for related construction work on site. On August 10, with the successful pouring of the final 224 cubic meters of concrete, the eight-month-long civil engineering work for the reaction dam of the LDPE/EVA unit in Yueneng Chemical’s filling and completion project was brought to an end. It is understood that the total volume of concrete poured for the reaction dam amounted to 7,200 cubic meters, which was poured in 15 separate batches. The on-site construction supervisor explained that the reaction dam is 80.8 meters long and 20.1 meters wide, with a wall thickness of 1.5 meters; the foundation slab of the dam is also 1.5 meters thick. The highest point of the dam reaches 20.1 meters. Once completed, it will house reaction tubes under pressures as high as 270 Mpa, serving as the final \"firewall\" for the facility. Due to safety requirements, the construction precision of the reaction dam must be extremely high; the dimensions of each rebar bar and the distance between them must be constructed in strict accordance with the design specifications. The dimensions of the openings for high-pressure pipes in the walls of reaction dams must be extremely precise; if the error in the size of these openings exceeds a few centimeters, the entire high-pressure system has to be redesigned. During the 8-month construction period, all relevant parties exercised strict control, and tasks such as drawing design, steel bar binding, formwork erection, and pouring were completed efficiently. The on-site supervisor of the LDPE/EVA plant said that the successful pouring of the reaction dam has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent installation work of the reactor to proceed as scheduled, and it also creates favorable conditions for the plant to enter the intensive installation phase ahead of time. The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China National Coal Group Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) is a key project aimed at implementing the requirements set by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to \"enhance the demonstration effect of the comprehensive utilization projects for coal, oil, and gas resources in Jingbian\", as well as the goals of Yanchang Petroleum Group to \"change its business model and adjust its structure\". With an investment of 14.413 billion yuan, this project will use coal and natural gas as raw materials to build an integrated facility capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). As of the end of June this year, a total investment of 6.5 billion yuan has been made, accounting for 45.1% of the total estimated investment amount. It is expected that by the end of December, 90% of the overall construction tasks for the project will be completed. The project is scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of next year; once operational, Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will reach 1.9 million tons per year. This will also make it the largest polyolefin production project in Shaanxi Province at present.
