The 2# propylene tower was successfully lifted. At 12:00 a.m. on December 24, the 2# propylene tower, the tallest and heaviest of the equipment over a thousand tons in the Gulei refining and chemical integration project, was lifted successfully in one go. With this, all lifting operations for the large-scale equipment over a thousand tons in the project’s 800,000 tons per year ethylene cracking unit have been completed. 9:00 The 2# propylene tower was slowly raised. The 2# propylene tower is about 110 meters tall, with a diameter of around 8 meters, and its net weight is over 1,400 tons. The equipment arrived at the project site on November 29, and subsequent lifting preparations were carried out in an orderly manner; with its accessories installed, the total weight of the equipment reached 1,600 tons. 11:00 The tower was raised to a vertical position. For this lifting operation, the same single-crane lifting method used previously for lifting large equipment weighing over a thousand tons on the project was employed; a 4,000-ton crane (model XGC88000) was used as the main crane for lifting, while a 1,250-ton crane served as an auxiliary crane to assist with the final positioning of the tower. The XGC88000 type 4,000-ton crane had its base installed at 12:00; the entire lifting process took 6 hours, and thanks to the joint efforts of all those involved, the equipment was placed in position safely and smoothly. 20:00 The “five towers” of the ethylene plant in the darkness. At present, five large-scale equipment units, each with a weight of over a thousand tons, including the emergency cooling water tower, emergency cooling oil tower, ethylene tower, 1# propylene tower, and 2# propylene tower, have been successfully installed. This achievement has enabled the plants to reach the stage where they are fully equipped and operational, marking a partial success in the construction of the ethylene plant; installation work is now set to enter a new phase of intensity.
