To modify the tower, it is necessary to cut open the cylinder and increase its height. The key issue is that the material used in the original tower was defective; 18mm thick Q235B was employed. I checked the old drawings; the standard specification is JB/T4710-2005. How should the project proposal and calculation documents for such projects be prepared? Logically, in such a situation, shouldn’t it be impossible to make such large movements with the tower? Tell us how you would handle this situation.
Does this mean the tower structure has to be processed again? Is it not necessary to return it to the factory, rather performing cutting and welding on-site?
On site, it’s 5 meters in diameter, and it’s not possible to take it back.
A test report is definitely required. The problem is that the specification for 150 requires the original tower material to be Q235B with a thickness of ≤16mm. It becomes very difficult to produce standardized report documents. In such cases, I generally recommend not moving the tower; if it is moved, compliance with standards becomes an issue. Actually, it’s fine in normal circumstances; the concern is accidents. This project isn’t standardized, which will cause a lot of trouble.
