A glass rotor flow meter is installed at the outlet of the metering pump. The designed flow rate for this process is 100 L/h. Due to the pulsations in the output from the metering pump, the glass rotor flow meter experiences periodic fluctuations within a range of approximately 55 L/h during operation. So, how should the flow rate be read – based on the highest or lowest point of these fluctuations? Does this metering pump have a flow rate equivalent to that of a centrifugal pump with a capacity of 67.5 L/h (assuming such a small centrifugal pump exists)? (This value represents the average of the upper and lower limits of the flow meter’s fluctuations.)
The output of a metering pump is pulsatory by nature, so fluctuations in a glass rotor flow meter are normal.
:) The input to a metering pump is in pulse form, and fluctuations are inevitable when a flow meter is used. Second question: How do metering pumps compare to centrifugal pumps? It’s like Guan Gong fighting Qin Qiong. The 2 species are both different.
You just said that your process flow rate is 100 L/H. And the flow rate of the metering pumps for each brand is different. The flow rate parameters of metering pumps from Mitto, NIKKISO, ProMinent, Ligao, Southern, and others are all different. So it’s not a good comparison. So your second question is a problematic one.
