The pumps used in factories these days are basically magnetic pumps; I haven’t had much experience with them. In the past I worked with centrifugal pumps, and it seems to me that magnetic pumps aren’t as effective as centrifugal pumps.
Depending on the operating conditions, magnetic pumps should be used wherever possible in such situations, as they do not cause leaks; after all, environmental protection is of top priority these days.

Whether to use a magnetic pump depends mainly on the material being handled; for flammable and explosive materials, it is recommended to use a magnetic pump or a shielded pump to prevent leaks. Magnetic pumps are more expensive than ordinary centrifugal pumps; whenever it is possible to use an ordinary centrifugal pump, that should be the preferred choice.

I took it apart to take a look; the actuating mechanism is more or less the same – it’s only the transmission system that differs. Magnetic pumps have magnets on their drive rods, which keep the pump in a suspended state during operation. But I think magnetic pump repair is more troublesome.
