For metering pumps, is the stroke turned off before starting the pump? It still has no effect when enabled. I seek the expert’s guidance.
1. Adjust the nut or handle through the rotation stroke to set the stroke indicator at zero. 2. Open the outlet valve. 3. Open the inlet valve to fill the pump, vent from the high point, and vent from the breather valve of the make-up valve. 4. Start the motor in jog mode to check the operation of the pump. 5. Start the motor. 6. Without applying pressure, increase the stroke by 20% every 15 minutes; if there is no pressure, do not increase the stroke significantly. In my fine chemical industry, the metering pumps are tuned with fixed stroke settings, and their start and stop are automatically controlled by the DCS. The stroke is generally set at a fixed value between 30% and 80%, depending on the process requirements. Starting with a full stroke may cause the diaphragm to rupture if the outlet is blocked.
