There is a strange noise when connecting it. What’s going on? What could be the cause?

Water hammer effect? Looking at these fastening bolts, it’s clear they haven’t been maintained. They were removed during the vehicle maintenance check to ensure that the butterfly valve components weren’t loose due to vibration: lol
The butterfly valve’s disc must be loose; it’s a flexible connection, so there’s nothing serious about it
If it rusts like this, it will explode, with an even louder sound
1. If the process permits, adjust the valve openings to 0%, 50%, and 100% respectively to see if surging occurs. 2. Of course, it’s best to remove the valve and take a look. There have been cases where slightly larger mechanical impurities got stuck at the valve location and refused to move, causing abnormal noises. 3. Is the valve opening shown in the photo required by the process specifications? Such valves are not suitable for long-term throttling use; it is better to keep them fully open or fully closed. During long-term use under throttling conditions, the valve plate and valve core are subject to significant erosion and resistance loads, which may lead to loosening or detachment.
