The material scraper in the clarification tank has been out of service for 1 month... Various methods were tried during that time, but it still won’t operate. Slag does settle at the bottom normally, but judging from the thickness of the filter cake, the amount of slag discharged has decreased significantly. Previously, there was no issue with slag overflowing from the top of the clarification tank; but starting last week, ash and slag have accumulated to the top level about 3 meters outside the sludge container in the clarification tank. Currently, the water overflowing from the clarification tank is black in color... Do anyone have any emergency solutions? Has any manufacturer managed to keep this tank operating under such conditions? How long will it run? I feel that if we keep running it, the pipes in the water system will face serious problems·
The method currently used is to install a submersible sewage pump beside the sludge tank, with pipes leading to the slag-turning location; it is lowered about 3 meters down, at an angle that intersects with the direction in which the slag is turned, in order to flush out the accumulated sludge and send it to the bottom outlet. This creates a certain vortex effect that helps in pushing the sludge away. We will see if this works; if it is effective, another pump will be installed at a diagonal position
There really isn’t any good solution to this; as the amount of slag discharged decreases, more and more ash and slag accumulate in the tank, until it eventually gets full, and the quality of the ash-water mixture becomes worse and worse! If it’s still possible to discharge material, increase the filtration volume to see if it’s possible to achieve an output of ash that is greater than the input amount, thereby filtering out the ash in the tank. If that doesn’t work, try installing a ring of high-pressure flushing pipes around the sedimentation tank to push the ash at the bottom toward the center, thereby increasing the flow rate and ensuring boiling at the bottom. But these are only temporary solutions; in the end, the vehicle still needs to be stopped so that the rake can be repaired!
Increasing the amount of filtering mortar and introducing air or nitrogen to circulate at the bottom to create disturbance can help remove dust, prevent further accumulation, and maintain performance.
Add more pumps and pipelines, use intensive bubbling; employ pumping for agitation as well as bubbling for mixing, alternating between agitation and rest. The position can also be changed continuously to create a vortex effect, enabling multiple stages of slag removal. Monitor the chemical addition carefully; no problem. It’s no problem to hold on for another three months.
Some manufacturers continued production for 8 months after the material raking machine stopped operating.
In the initial stage, we used construction vibration rods, and it worked well… Over time, we could only make holes in the upper part; we need to find a solution/
Building vibration rods seem so small – how much effect can they have? It seems that the ash and slag need to be processed into the sedimentation tank to be effective.
I’ve gone through it twice, and there’s no good solution. Continuing repairs without shutting down the operation will only lead to worse outcomes. Do not cause environmental pollution accidents through production failures. At that time, the environmental and safety supervision departments will be involved as well.
High-pressure water pipes can be placed around the ash trough, leading directly downward to flush the fine ash toward the discharge outlet.
So it still has to keep running? It doesn’t seem like there’s any good solution for this. Do you only have this one sedimentation tank? It seems that all current designs come with backups. If there’s only one option, it’s better to stop and carry out repairs right away; the sooner repairs are done, the less time it will take and the lower the costs will be!
