For the procurement of power cables for chemical processing plants, once the quantity of cables required is specified in the purchase request, is it still necessary for the construction party to conduct actual measurements? There is no need for the construction party to conduct actual measurements, as the purchase order already includes a design margin. But opening prices need to be considered when purchasing.
Generally, purchases are made according to the quantities specified in the material list of the design drawings or based on the purchase order. If one is familiar with cable procurement, it is possible to combine similar specifications appropriately, merging those in smaller quantities into larger ones, thereby reducing the number of different cable types that need to be purchased. The bidding documents consist of commercial and technical sections, which mainly outline the technical parameters of the cables to be purchased, as well as the inspection methods and packaging methods.
