Hello everyone: I have a question for you. When using Aspen for simulations, if pumps and valves are to be used, how should the pressures of these devices be specified at the beginning? Thank you all.
Also, how should the pressure drop across a certain device be set to be reasonable?
I just thought that, in the initial stage of process simulation, it might be possible to ignore pressure drop for now and complete the simulation of the entire process first. Finally, should we consider adding a pump unit module due to the pressure drop in the pipes and equipment? I hope experts can give some advice. :D
You can check the \"Chemical Process Design Handbook\"; it contains information on pressure drops, though I can’t remember the specific details. Like through a heat exchanger, it can be set at 20 kPa

Are you simulating or designing? In the case of simulation, the pressure drop is known, or it can be calculated based on the relationship between pressure and flow rate.
