On the afternoon of November 4, several videos of the fire were posted on Weibo and WeChat in Yancheng, showing dark smoke and a fierce blaze at the scene of the accident. Reporters from Modern Express learned that the company where the fire broke out was an aluminum manufacturing firm in Dongtai, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. 　　“The fire broke out at an aluminum factory covering an area of about 50 mu. ”According to insiders, a fire broke out in a factory building in Group 11 of Xilou Village, former Sizao Town, Dongtai City; thick smoke could be seen from several miles away, and as one approached, it seemed as though it was already dark. Soon after, firefighters arrived and used high-pressure water guns to extinguish the fire with full force. 　　Reporters from Modern Express saw through a WeChat video that thick black smoke was coming out of a white factory building, rising continuously into the sky. The factory where the fire broke out was located within a industrial park; pedestrians riding bikes on the road stopped to watch, and occasional cries of surprise could be heard from them. 　　At around 4 p.m., the Publicity Department of the Dongtai Municipal Party Committee issued a statement saying that at around 1 p.m. on November 4, a fire broke out on the roof of the extrusion workshop at Dongtai Huafeng Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd., which is located in the Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park in Dongtai Town. The fire caused damage to the roof of the extrusion workshop; however, the equipment inside the workshop as well as the rest of the factory building were not affected by the fire, and no injuries were reported. Upon receiving the call, the Dongtai Fire Brigade rushed to the scene and promptly extinguished the fire; the cause of the incident is under investigation.
