The pipeline construction acceptance specifications and GB20801 Industrial Pipelines – Code for Design specify that a leakage test should be conducted after a pressure test, but the TSG G001 Code for Safety Inspection of Boilers requires that a leakage test be carried out first for heat transfer oil pipelines, followed by a pressure test. So, which standard should be followed for the pipeline inspection in organic heat carrier boiler rooms?

In organic carrier boilers, a gas-tightness test must be conducted first only when a hydraulic test is to be carried out using an organic carrier, in order to prevent significant leaks of the organic carrier during the hydraulic test and avoid resulting losses. If a water pressure test is used, this requirement does not apply.
