Sulfur-containing wastewater storage tank, carbon steel material, with internal anti-corrosion coating. Initially, anti-corrosion materials were known to be epoxy resin combined with glass fiber cloth; glass flake was also tried, but now it’s hard to say for sure. For over a decade now, we have been a professional anti-corrosion team in charge of carrying out these tasks. The first time, we saw a type of coating used by an anti-corrosion company based in Wuhan; the next three times, it was a coating from some company in Qingdao. It was supplied in buckets, and we couldn’t understand what it was.
So what measures do you intend to take? Should you purchase equipment, or opt for materials for directly repairing the equipment? What is the temperature required for corrosion protection of acidic water storage tanks? Linered glass equipment is widely used in industrial production and scientific research in fields such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides, organic synthesis, petroleum, food manufacturing, and the defense industry, for processes such as reaction, evaporation, concentration, synthesis, polymerization, saponification, sulfonation, chlorination, and nitration, serving as a substitute for stainless steel and non-ferrous metal equipment. Corrosion resistance of glass-lined equipment: It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against various concentrations of inorganic acids, organic acids, organic solvents, and weak bases. However, it is not suitable for strong bases, hydrofluoric acid, fluoride-containing media, as well as phosphoric acid at temperatures above 180°C and concentrations above 30%. Impact resistance: The index for resistance to mechanical impact is 220×10-3 J; avoid impact from hard objects during use. Insulation: The porcelain surface has undergone strict testing using a high voltage of 20,000 volts. Temperature resistance: Resistant to sudden temperature changes, with a tolerance of 110°C for cold shock and 120°C for heat shock. The specific characteristics of fluorine-lined (anti-corrosion lined) storage tanks are as follows: 1. They can resist strong acids and strong bases, with a pH range of 1–14. 2. It can resist the penetration of small molecular gases, including oxygen, carbon dioxide, chlorine, and chlorine oxides. 3. High purity; the precipitation rate is extremely low, meeting the purity requirements of the photovoltaic industry. 4. Excellent electrical properties. 5. Wide operating temperature range, from ultra-low temperatures to 150°C. 6. Good weather resistance. 7. Flame retardant (oxygen index greater than 52%), and less prone to burning than traditional fluoroplastics. 8. Its surface is extremely smooth; it has the smoothest surface among all fluoroplastics, with a very low coefficient of friction. 9. Strong mechanical properties: it is harder and more robust than traditional fluoroplastics, with improved wear resistance.
When choosing materials, it depends on what acid is used What concentration? Room temperature! As for protection, it is recommended to use polymer coatings, which offer good corrosion resistance, do not peel off or become ineffective over time, have a long service life, and are easy to apply. In cases where there are areas prone to corrosion such as welds, special protection for those welds can also be implemented.
