Recently, Shenmu Tianyuan invested over 1.4 million yuan in technological improvements to the hydrogenation reaction process used in sulfur recovery systems. The original sulfur recovery unit at Shenmu Tianyuan was designed to use a two-stage Claus+Scot+flue gas combustion emission process; the SO2 content in the emitted flue gas met the emission standards of that time, namely GB16297-1996. However, it can no longer meet the SO2 emission requirements for sulfur recovery units as specified in the newly revised \"Emission Standards for Pollutants in Petroleum Refining Industry\" (GB31570-2015). To implement relevant regulations and standards in areas such as environmental protection, safety and hygiene, fire prevention, and energy conservation, to strengthen enterprises’ responsibilities for pollution control, to strive for leadership in production process technologies, to ensure the long-term operation of facilities, and to improve their economic efficiency, Shenmu Tianyuan is actively pursuing technological innovations and plans to upgrade the company’s existing sulfur recovery exhaust gas system. This technological innovation in hydrogenation is expected to be completed by September 2016 and put into operation. Once the technological innovations in hydrogenation reactions are completed, Shenmu Tianyuan will further modify the sulfur recovery system equipment, with the goal of reducing the exhaust emissions from this system to SO2 levels
I don’t know exactly how it was modified.
It seems that there are still quite a number of devices that, if not upgraded now, have emissions below 400! Why bother with renovations?
After all, many companies only have Klaus installed; SCOT can’t be left there unused – it needs to be put to use
