I received a text message yesterday from Postal 11185, stating that one of my postal packages had been collected by someone else, along with the delivery worker’s phone number. I checked and saw that I hadn’t made any online purchases recently, so how could there be a delivery package? I called the delivery worker to ask, and he said there was indeed a package, but it was one of those fake packages used to boost sales on Taobao. Hundreds of such packages arrive every day, and they refuse to deliver them. I wonder how the delivery workers know that it’s junk mail; how do they have the right to decide not to deliver it? Shouldn’t it be the recipient who decides that? Is it right for them to do this? Some netizens suggested: File a complaint and state that a phone of a certain brand worth XXXX yuan is missing. My approach is to file a complaint, insist on delivery, then refuse to accept it and have the original item returned, following all the procedures. If you involve the phone, there’s a risk that they might sue you for extortion; it’s a high-risk situation.
