Why are the wall thicknesses in Table B.1 of Appendix B of GB12459 and Table 2.0.2-1 (Ia series) of HG20553 different? For example, for DN15 SCH80, Table B.1 shows a value of 3.73, while Table 2.0.2-1 (Ia series) for HG20553 indicates 3.6. Please provide an explanation
Is GB12459 based entirely on the American standards, while Chinese standards such as HG20553, SH3405, and GB17395 (whose dimensions – outer diameter X wall thickness – can be found on page P190 of the second volume of the Chemical Process Design Manual) are derived from the American standards with appropriate modifications made to them? ? ?
GB17395 is likely the national standard; there are also standards set by the Ministry of Chemical Industry, American standards, and other industry-specific standards – **the standards vary from one industry to another**
GB/T12459 is based on the American standards; HG is a standard developed in China, and its values are generally close to those of the other standard

I’m not very familiar with it; it’s probably because of different standards, which is why the wall thickness varies as well
The dimensions of GB12459 are based on ANSI B36.10 (American series of imperial pipes), while the dimensions of HG20553 Ia series are based on ISO4200 (European series of imperial pipes). Different standard systems are not comparable.
