The pipeline before the water ring vacuum pump was originally DN50, but now, in order to control the pressure inside the tank, a control valve is intended to be installed at the beginning of the pipeline, which will result in the diameter of the pipeline being reduced to DN25. The tank was previously capable of achieving extreme vacuum levels; will it no longer be possible to achieve such levels after the diameter is reduced? What other impacts or risks are there! The drawback of necking is, of course, its impact on the ultimate vacuum level inside the tank. As for whether it affects production, it depends on the required vacuum level and the pumping capacity of the pump; with sufficient margin, it may not have any impact.
It mainly depends on the pump’s pumping capacity; if it’s sufficient, then there’s no problem.
This allows the designer to consider whether a neck reduction is suitable!
Will the pumping speed be affected, will it be much slower? For example, it may take longer to reduce the pressure from 1 atmosphere to 10 kPa.
