PROII usage

PROII doesn’t seem to be as widely used anymore; many people are switching to ASPEN. Is this a trend?
Its range of application is not as wide as ASPEN’s, but it still has its own features
I agree; mainly, ASPEN doesn’t cover as wide a range, and everyone wants to rely on one unique approach to succeed in everything.
Probably because it is more convenient to work with reactive systems or electrolyte systems in Aspen, and also because Aspen has a larger database. ProII still has its own advantages in simulating the petrochemical industry. Overall, they are all commercial software, and much experience is still required to apply the simulation results directly in actual production processes.
I’m a beginner here. Are the material properties required for various process calculations usually available for simulation? Such as the thermal conductivity, specific heat, viscosity, and so on of fluids (mixtures)……
It can all be calculated, but it’s already in the database; just look up the pure substance!
