The voltage of the positive terminal with respect to ground is 24V, while that of the negative terminal is 0V. Why is no voltage detected between the positive and negative terminals, with a measured value of 0? What could be the reason? I would appreciate guidance from those experienced in electrical engineering
In my opinion, the ground serves as the common terminal, forming a circuit with the positive pole which allows voltage to be measured; whereas the negative pole is open-circuited from the positive pole and does not form a circuit, so no voltage can be measured.

The voltage of the positive terminal with respect to ground is 24V, which indicates that the positive terminal is still connected to a 24V power supply. The voltage measured at the negative terminal with respect to ground is 0V; there are two possible scenarios: either it is connected to the 0V terminal of the 24V power supply, or it isn’t connected to any power source at all. If the negative terminal is connected to the 0V terminal of the 24V power supply, then the voltage measured relative to the positive terminal should also be 24V. Since no voltage is detected in this case, it’s very likely that the negative terminal isn’t connected to the power supply. Use a multimeter to check whether there is a connection between the negative terminal of the power supply and the point where you are making the measurement.
