Compressor labyrinth seal: Where do the leaks from the primary seal, secondary seal, and isolation gas go? How much is the leakage?
The leaked gas, as well as the shielding gas, was basically sent to a flare
If the medium is flammable, the main seal gas is discharged to the flare stack, the secondary discharge is vented directly, and the isolation gas is sent to the oil and gas pipeline
The leakage volume only needs to be measured during one exhaust cycle (that is, the main seal exhaust you mentioned). In our factory, it’s generally around 10 kg/h, but we’re not sure if this is the case for other equipment as well
In normal oil refining plants, leaks from the primary seal are directed to the high-pressure flare, those from the secondary seal go to the low-pressure flare, and the isolation gas is vented to on-site high-point vents. As for the leakage amount, it entirely depends on the operating conditions of the unit.
