Can seam-welded steel pipes be used in pressure vessels?

I remember that the old standards specified that welded steel pipes with seams could be used in pressure vessels, but the pressure cannot exceed 0.7 MPa. The new standard doesn’t specify this, so I’m not sure if it can still be used. I would appreciate some advice from fellow sailors.
I am referring to carbon steel and low-alloy welded steel pipes.
Now seamless ones are also cheap; just use the seamless ones

Theoretically, it can be used completely. A pressure vessel can itself be regarded as an enlarged seamed welded pipe; larger diameters are feasible, and even smaller diameters pose no problem at all. The question is, since seamless steel pipes exist, why use welded steel pipes? If seamless steel pipes had not been invented, then seamless steel pipes would have been the choice naturally.

Carbon steel pipes used in pressure vessels are generally seamless pipes, forged pipes, and steel plate rolled pipes (for larger diameters). Seam-welded steel pipes are not used.
I personally also think that welded steel pipes can be used.
