My air compressor has four stages and three cooling systems, with the coolers built-in. Each stage of the fourth-stage impeller is equipped with cleaning nozzles. During the first three stages of cleaning, the cleaning water can be discharged from the hydroseparator. Since the exhaust from the fourth-stage impeller is sent directly to the air-cooled tower, and there are no traps for the built-in coolers of the first three stages, can the fourth-stage impeller be cleaned online? If possible, the cleaning water must be discharged from the drain trap in the air compressor exhaust pipeline – is that okay? Are there any risks? Or are there any other methods? How do everyone else clean it?
We are in the north, and since it’s relatively dry there, we haven’t done any cleaning. I cleaned it when I was at the East China factory, and the cleaning of the impeller without stages was also done in a normal manner. There are no special requirements. The last stage has been brought into the air-cooled tower, and no dedicated drainage system has been installed. A discharge valve can be installed at the lowest point of the vent pipeline ; Leave it slightly ajar during cleaning to check if water is flowing out.
I’m also in the north. Every time I clean it, the water discharged from the first stage is the dirtiest; the second stage is a bit cleaner, the third stage is basically clean, and I haven’t dared to use the final stage for cleaning, fearing water hammer effects
Those that have entered in an atomized form are fine. It is done by cleaning the impeller; regular cleaning is necessary to achieve the best results, otherwise the dirt attached to the impeller will be cleaned off in some areas while remaining in other areas. It becomes dangerous instead.
The wastewater after the fourth stage of cleaning can be fed into the air-cooling tower; at the same time, it is necessary to enhance the waste discharge system of the air-cooling tower~~ Is it an Atlas compressor that the poster is using?
Personally, I think that the water after cleaning enters the air-cooling tower and then flows into the water system along with the cooling water; it should not reach the upper part of the tower. It’s sufficient to pay attention to ensuring proper drainage at the lowest point of the pipeline leading to the TSA behind the air-cooling tower – as long as there is no water there, it’s fine
