What is the main role of activated carbon in natural gas dehydration towers?

Adsorption can serve to remove impurities
On the one hand, activated carbon can serve to support and fill the molecular sieve; on the other hand, it is itself a porous material whose pores are larger than those of the molecular sieve, allowing it to assist in adsorbing some of the water and other impurities present in natural gas.
