How to prevent freezing of clean air and unclean air in winter?
For such media, dehydration must be carried out before they leave the air separation compressor station. Drain points are installed at the lower points of the main pipes to remove condensed water; the branch pipes are prone to clogging, so separate pipes can be used to drain and flush out the water
1. Strengthen inspections and drain condensate at low points. 2. Insulate the drain valves located at low points in areas where unpurified air is present, as condensate tends to form there; keep these valves slightly open.

Purified air does not require anti-freezing measures; refer to HG/T 20510-2000 Regulations for the Design of Instrument Air Supply and SH/T 3020-2013 Standards for the Design of Air Supply in Petrochemical Industries. 2. For unpurified air, a hydroseparator can be installed at the lowest point; a small amount of venting can be carried out at that point or at the end, and heat tracing can also be used for insulation. It’s not used regularly; cutting off some water before winter should prevent any problems.
Fundamentally, purified air does not require protection against freezing or condensation. For unpurified air, if there is a large amount of water in the pipelines, a buffer tank is needed to help remove the water; heating may also be necessary in such cases. When there is water present, freezing occurs in the pipelines during winter, leading to blockages that are difficult to resolve
There should be no problem with the purified air; for unpurified air, it is recommended to add heating (also depending on the local temperature conditions). In Xinjiang, I installed heating systems for insulation purposes.
Dry with strong wind to reduce the dew point of the wind to below –45.
Our factory has not carried out any anti-freezing measures in this regard; instead, we have slightly opened the drain at the bottom of the buffer tank at the inlet to the unit. I hope this is helpful to you.
The purification air system is normally fine, but if there are issues such as errors in the process, it could lead to water being carried in the purification air. We experienced this problem during winter; it took a long time to resolve it.
There is generally no problem with the purge air; originally, we would only drain it from the buffer tank during shift handovers and inspections, and usually there was no water in it. Keep the bottom vent of the non-purified air buffer tank slightly open; perform a thorough discharge during each hourly inspection. Make sure to keep the vents at the lowest points where the non-purified air is used in the system slightly open as well
