When the air separation system is started up, air is used for molecular sieve regeneration; at what point can it be switched to contaminated nitrogen? Why is it required that the oxygen content in the contaminated nitrogen be less than 21% at the time of this switch?
Switch the molecular sieve regeneration gas; the inlet flow rate for low-regeneration mode must reach the required value. If this condition is not met, it will be unfavorable for establishing the operating conditions of the distillation tower.
It can be switched when there is contaminated nitrogen. Above 21%, the high oxygen concentration poses a risk to some pipelines. Especially branch pipes where oil and grease removal is incomplete and there is a large amount of particles.
Generally, when the temperature inside the tower has cooled down sufficiently and distillation has gradually established, the amount of air entering the tower remains relatively stable, as does the amount of nitrogenous waste gas exiting the tower; this makes it suitable for using nitrogenous waste gas to replace the regenerating air~~
As for keeping the content of regenerated nitrogen and oxygen below 21%, this is done for safety reasons; after all, an oxygen-rich environment is unsafe~~
