Everyone, I ran into a problem today. For the cold low-cut fraction in our aviation fuel hydrogenation unit, the level measurement is achieved using a float and an on-site glass gauge. The control room indicated an elevated level reading; we activated a secondary drainage line on site, but the level indicated by the float level gauge remained unchanged, while the glass plate level gauge showed it to be at full scale. We obtained the instruments, and they cut out the float and conducted tests with water; they said there was no problem with the float, and the level gauge indicated around 30%. Later, a secondary line was installed; the reading from this float level gauge remained unchanged, yet the liquid level started to drop. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on, so I’d like to ask everyone here: how do you view this situation?
Continue cutting the water and observe whether the cut water contains oil. It is normal for the liquid level to drop when cutting water.

I didn’t quite understand it – there’s talk of levels and fluid levels. Has the density of the medium being measured been taken into account? If the density of that medium isn’t set correctly, problems may arise
It might be that the specifications of the floats don’t match; check the specification data indicated on the nameplate. Another possibility is that it’s blocked
If the level in the level gauge does not change over an extended period of time, there is a high likelihood of oil emulsification; as a result, the contents within the water phase become uniform in density, with no separation between layers, and the level in the gauge remains unchanged
