The reliability of packing seals is really poor
The double-face modular unbalanced mechanical seal was successfully applied in a project in Inner Mongolia
This post was last edited by Zigong Mechanical Seal on 2015-12-26 at 20:08. What is the current specification for the packing? How many groups? As long as the space in the sealing chamber is large enough to meet the design dimensions of the mechanical seal, that’s sufficient
The size has been measured, and it doesn’t fit quite well~ Currently using a graphite rope to apply pressure
Previously, a packing seal was used, indicating that a slight amount of leakage from the medium was acceptable. If there is sufficient space between the bearing housing and the packing gland, it is recommended to have the mechanical seal supplier design and supply a modular single-face mechanical seal. If space is insufficient, they can also be asked to design and supply non-encased single-face mechanical seals; however, such seals are more difficult to install, and the error rate during installation is higher.
It has been surveyed; there isn’t enough space. What is the reliability of a single-face seal if the modification is successful?
When the pump is operating smoothly, that is, when the vibration frequency and amplitude are not high; Clean the medium; (if there are particles in the medium, it is recommended to use external cleaning water for rinsing and cooling) ; When properly installed, non-mass-mounted mechanical seals can achieve an operational life of up to 25,000 hours, with a minimum requirement of 8,000 hours.
