Applications of laser cladding technology in the steel industry: 1. Transmission components (coupling shafts, cantilever shafts, crossheads, flat-head sleeves, universal joint sleeves). 2. Rolls and rolling mills. 3. Other components: (1) Submerged rolls, stabilizing rolls, lifting rolls, tensioning looper rolls in continuous galvanizing lines; (2) Bottom rolls and thermal tensioning looper rolls in continuous annealing lines; (3) Process roll chutes, transfer rolls, contact rolls, guide rolls; (4) Lids, fan blades, air locks for oxygen-blown steelmaking furnaces, crystallizers for continuous casting molds, hydraulic sleeves, wire drawing wheels, water-cooled walls for sulfiding furnaces, as well as bimetallic or trimetallic composite slides and linings for metal rolling lines. Main product features: Based on ordinary carbon steel, laser cladding technology is used to create a high-hardness (HRC 40–55), corrosion-resistant cladding layer on the working surfaces of the slides and liners; a corrosion-resistant laser cladding layer is also formed on the surface in contact with the rolling mill frame. Compared to ordinary slides and liners, its service life is significantly increased.
