Many such situations are observed at the production sites: although there should be 8 or 6 bolt holes, only 4 bolts are often installed. This phenomenon exists in every one of our workshops, and it doesn’t happen just in some areas. I wonder whether this is acceptable; are there any regulations requiring that all bolts be used? Where do these standards come from?
It’s best to install them all; I’ve never seen it done that way.
Our maintenance workers are simply not professional enough; for example, many of the motor terminal box covers lack bolts
It is recommended to check the flange standards; the number of bolts should match the number of holes. If someone causes trouble, reply to them: You’ve been working for 22 days – you can’t expect to be paid every day, right? ;P
Lacking bolts is not in line with standardized management; it may not cause leaks in low-pressure situations, but it is not proper.
The identification of hazard sources can be done using empirical methods. Not everything needs to have a source. Within the standardization system, it is entirely possible to create checklists internally within the company and include them as part of these inspection specifications.
This situation also occurs in our equipment; for example, the atmospheric pressure filters that need to be cleaned regularly are all handled by our own staff.
For flammable materials, bolts play a role in dissipating static electricity, and their number must be sufficient.
It is not allowed by regulations, but this situation is quite common. When the number of bolts to be installed does not match the number of bolt holes, they should be compressed symmetrically.
