Dear Chuan gods, please share your opinions! In the current situation, it is sufficient to condense and recover the exhaust gas; there is no intention of using an absorption tower for absorption. Therefore, only two exhaust gas buffer tanks have been installed – one anhydrous and the other containing water. A exhaust gas condenser (single-stage cooler) is placed in front of these tanks. Now the question arises: should these two buffer tanks be located at a lower height (0-3 m) or at a higher height (7-11 m)? The vented gas mainly comes from the storage tanks; the pure solvent storage tanks are located at 0m (ground level) and 11m (the fourth floor), while the amounts of gas vented from other sources are relatively small

The main components are n-hexane, methanol, and water, I guess
It’s better to place the two buffer tanks at a lower position. This is because the buffer tanks for recycling hexane and methanol have no specific requirements regarding their location; being placed at a lower height facilitates operation as well as maintenance, and it also helps with the regular calibration and inspection of safety valves and pressure gauges.
The difference here is not just a few dozen centimeters, but rather the height of different floors – it refers to whether something should be placed on the first floor at 0m, the second floor at 3m, the third floor at 7.5m, or the fourth floor at 11.5m. I’m not sure if placing things at such different heights has any effects or advantages/Disadvantages
