During a recent tender for float level gauges, a problem was identified; originally, it was planned to specify Fisher’s DLC3000 gauge head. However, our buoy requires a range of 3.2 meters. Some people have suggested that the DLC3000 can only achieve 3 meters, but its range can be expanded by 10% (the specification indeed states 3 meters). FOXBORO can achieve 5 meters. I would like to ask the experienced colleagues whether anyone has used Fisher float level gauges with a range of over 3 meters? I’d be very grateful to know how it works.
Why is a float used for a range of 3.2 meters? It is inconvenient for installation, inspection, and maintenance; using double flanges is the most straightforward solution for such a large spacing
What was said on the 3rd floor is correct; for measuring liquid levels over such a large range, dual flanges are the best choice
It is recommended to use double flanges for liquid levels above 2 meters: 1. The float is too heavy, making maintenance inconvenient. 2. The cost-performance ratio is poor. Where double flanges can be used, it is better to opt for them, as buoy tanks have a relatively high failure rate.
Used in the transformation section; it is process condensate with relatively high temperature and pressure, with a temperature of over 250 degrees. It didn’t need to be this long; 2000 mm would have been sufficient, but now the opening distance of the equipment is 3.2 meters. It’s a turnkey project; I don’t feel like arguing anymore.
