The combustion section of the hydrogen chloride synthesis furnaces often leaks. Our plant uses two-in-one synthesis furnaces, with a total of 5 such furnaces. After replacing the combustion sections after nearly three years of use, the cylinders continued to leak. Since the newly installed cylinders were slightly larger than the original ones, the connection fittings were enlarged, and the flame arresters for chlorine and hydrogen at the bottom were replaced with ceramic-type flame arresters； I would like to ask experts what causes internal leakage in the combustion section Personally, I think it’s because the wall thickness of the cylinder has thinned
Is it a leak in the graphite cylinder or a leak in the seal? There are many possible causes for leaks; for seal-related leaks, considering the use of better sealing materials as well as proper assembly could help. Our factory usually replaces the seals every about 3 years, with basically no leaks.
