Inspection Report for May 2015: The inspection report for May 2015 was prepared jointly by the inspection team, and after being revised by the site administrator it was published for review by the moderators of various sections, section leaders, and actual moderators. If there are any areas where the inspections were inadequate or incorrect, please post your feedback; the inspection team will handle the matter accordingly and provide a response. You can also share your personal opinions via private message. As always, the touring team will work together with all major forums to spread positive energy, uphold the spirit of inclusiveness, and promote continuous progress in China’s chemical technologies. Thank you all! Red highlighting: Aspects that deserve recognition and promotion. Black bold text: Areas that need improvement along with suggestions. Process and system design section: Rotating feature article – Lomi. Overall performance this month: The process section performed well, especially the pipe and valve section as well as the chemical engineering theory section; the daily quiz activity in the chemical engineering theory section was very effective. Additionally, it is hoped that the learning and regulation-related activities in the process system section will continue. Other sections need to improve further ; Regulations on the distribution of wage subsidies. Regional moderators on duty: 11 moderators performed poorly (this is a matter needing attention). Moderators with excellent management records include: ZaiHuiKangQiao, HongShanPoXia, Sammy_Wang, Grizzly, longkui1990, DesertFish, etc ; Maintenance of order on the forums and the duties that moderators should perform (scoring, reading posts, adding dividers, etc.): In terms of forum management, the management of the Aspen and ProII sections still leaves much to be desired. There are quite a number of unread posts below the dividers. It is hoped that the moderators in these two sections will strengthen their management efforts. Additionally, it is recommended to hire a deputy super moderator who would be solely responsible for the overall development of these two sections ; Additionally, the management in the Process Systems Area and the Chemical Engineering Theory Area has not been very timely recently; I hope it can be improved next month. Aspects worthy of recognition and promotion: (1) It is excellent that the chemical engineering theory section carries out daily topic discussions ; (2) The academic development activities in the process system area were well organized ; (3) For the forum PPT event, the participation rate from the process division was very high; keep up the good work. Areas that need improvement and suggestions: No obvious violations of the forum’s rules in this region ; 1. There are many excellent moderators in the process zone; the six slots allocated this month seem quite reasonable. Keep up the good work! ; 2. Currently, there are two Deputy Superintendents in the region. It is recommended to hire or appoint one more Deputy Superintendent to oversee the development of the Aspen and PROII regions ; 3. The daily topic activities in the Chemical Engineering Theory section are very effective; it is recommended that other sections also carry out such activities ; 4. Expert gu*nchun888’s lecture on “Equipment Selection and Calculation” – please take the time to get in touch at your earliest convenience; I hope it can be held in June ; Mechanical Equipment Section – Weekly Update: O.K. Overall performance this month: The popularity of the Mechanical Equipment section has seen a steady increase this month; the number of posts in the categories of corrosion, boilers, and tower equipment has risen significantly compared to April. The categories of rotating equipment, containers, heat exchange systems, and machinery also performed well. Regional moderator attendance: The regional management team is well-structured; under the leadership of the 28 senior moderators and three deputy senior moderators, each section has 1–2 highly competent moderators, such as FOREST_GUMP, Mengwan100, ALe, whthday, gn_1984, lyyifeng, and others. Maintaining order in the forum: The moderators have fulfilled their duties appropriately, managing to assign reasonable scores, reviewing posts in a timely manner, and using separators effectively. Aspects worthy of recognition and emulation: 1. The salary assessments for moderators and the technical team are comprehensive and reasonable ; On May 28th, an upgraded version introduced measures for strengthening the technical team in the [Mechanical Division] (http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1397915-1-1.html), as well as recommended popular threads (http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1402249-1-1.html), which are worth discussing and drawing upon by other divisions ; 2. The regional moderator system is well-established, with strong team cohesion ; 3. The participation rate in the PPT activity was very high, especially among people like Xiao Jie and Ya Mei ; 4. The continuation of 【Weekly Topics】 and 【Daily Questions】 is also a key reason for maintaining high popularity in the region. 5. In the first month of the technical team reform, the region recruited over 10 technical members and created 4 one-on-one discussion threads. This is an encouraging result, and it is hoped that this momentum will be maintained. The presence of technical members and their active interaction within the community are key factors in fostering a technical atmosphere in the region; it is also hoped that other regions will follow this example. Points to note and recommendations: 1. The basic guidelines for issuing salary bonuses are in place, but this month the bonus for the deputy editor exceeded the limit of 1000 + 30. Editors who perform excellently should be given prestige rewards; salaries should not exceed the set upper limit, and the number of outstanding editors can be increased as appropriate. 2. The one-on-one posts in the advanced discussion version are not being made full use of. The increasing number of one-on-one posts in this section is commendable, but it is necessary for the section management team to consider ways to let more users know about these posts. It is suggested that they explore ways to enhance the influence of the section’s technical team. Industry Regional Tour Special Edition: Huawei I. Positive aspects 1. This month, the industry regions submitted posts related to the PPT campaign, and the quality of those posts was good, which indicates that there is potential for further development in these regions. Extra editions and sub-extra editions have also received careful attention. 2. The regional moderators are diligent and responsible in their duties; the forums are well-organized, and the level of management has improved. There are few posts that violate rules or regulations, and they continue to maintain a rigorous, meticulous, and disciplined work style. 3. The moderators who excel in management include Du Xiaoping, LIUST508, Ameba, 15640090960, ljtjbx, Tianyi, cy1125915, and Mingming Wei; in particular, 15640090960 is responsible for managing two different sections, handling a large volume of tasks, and is a role worth emulating by forum moderators*. II. Areas needing improvement1. The number of PPT submissions is still relatively low; it is hoped that this number can increase in June. 2. There are too many necroposted threads in the Fine Chemicals section; please moderators promptly remove such posts. For meaningless replies that rise to the top, such pointless posts should be deleted promptly; advertising posts must be dealt with even more strictly. 3. Some moderators are too lenient; instead of deleting posts that violate the rules outright, they merely issue warnings. All moderators must strictly adhere to the rules, removing, deleting, warning, suspending, or even banning posts that clearly violate the rules without any hesitation. III. A polite request: The chemical industry is not doing well at the moment; there are fewer posts in this sector, and their quality is low. The moderators’ interest in managing it is also declining, and this is the case across the entire forum. But I hope that all moderators will not become disheartened in their actual work roles, and will take this opportunity to improve themselves in order to lay a solid foundation for the arrival of the next economic upturn. Production Region Tour Special Edition: guanjian88. Overall performance this month: The popularity of this region is moderate this month; the three categories of safety, environmental protection, and water treatment have been reassigned to the safety category, which has had an impact. Regional moderator attendance: 8 moderators who did not meet the standards, and 3 moderators who performed excellently in managing data – namely zxb1990, shrien, and zlky2005 (the order among them is not important, as the super moderator is excluded). Regarding the maintenance of order in the forum and the proper fulfillment of moderators’ duties: the forum remained tidy, and moderators promptly marked messages as read. Reminders were sent regarding the dashboard on the 8th, and improvements were made thereafter. There are few activities in this region; basically no events take place. As long as order can be maintained well in the forum, reasonable allocation of tasks and organization of activities could help increase the region’s popularity. Suggestions: 1. Tianze, the deputy super moderator, has requested to leave temporarily due to work obligations. It would be necessary to find a responsible replacement. It’s difficult to recruit moderators for this region; perhaps additional incentives could be offered. 2. The focus of regional management should shift to the popular forums, as the dashboard is often not managed in a timely manner. Life Region Tour Special Edition: guanjian88. Overall performance this month: The region has been very popular this month. Attendance of regional moderators: 5 moderators who did not meet the requirements, and 2 moderators who performed excellently in managing data (with scores in the thousands); these are thankfullyyou and zhongqiaofang. Maintenance of order on the forum and fulfillment of moderators’ duties: The forum is well-kept, and ratings are provided in a timely manner. Shortcomings: Some activities in the region are rather chaotic, indicating poor understanding and execution of tasks; the main reason for this is a lack of proper communication between superiors and subordinates. It is hoped that these issues can be addressed promptly in the future. Suggestion: The Life District is a region that benefits greatly from HaiChuan’s strong popularity, but it isn’t a technical-focused area; therefore, it is recommended to reduce the scoring intensity somewhat. In particular, care should be taken with the scoring for casual posting and waste of resources. Leilei Super Edition has been quite busy lately, so it is hoped that the deputy super moderators and the official moderators of each edition will put in more effort. Coalification Region Tour Special Edition: Embracing Discernment and Generosity. Advantages: 1. The overall management of this region has seen significant improvement in terms of timeliness and quality compared to previous periods; at present, most areas are managed in a timely manner, which is worthy of praise and recognition! 2. In terms of managing moderators, the deputy moderator xuqinger promptly reminded the management team in the coalification discussion group, thus truly assisting the moderator in their work! 3. The moderators who performed well this month are wlq1970, sdos34, and TH373637. 4. The region has newly hired two full-time moderators this month, which is commendable! Suggestions: 1. The same old suggestion: speed up the recruitment of experienced moderators to maintain our region. 2. The management quality of the three sections—“Synthetic Ammonia Process Exchange”, “Sulfur and Sulfur Wastewater Treatment”, and “Fertilizer Technology Exchange”—is poor. All the other sections performed great this month! 3. This month, there are 4 management personnel at the 0 level, and a total of 7 management personnel at single-digit levels (this deserves attention). Foreign Language Section – Special Edition: Making the Most of Opportunities. Advantage: The technical team members and moderators in the foreign language section are willing to participate actively in discussions, and many highly specialized questions can be resolved effectively; this is certainly worth acknowledging! Suggestion: There is 1 management position available this month; more communication is needed! It is hoped that some actively managed real* moderators can be brought in to improve the current situation of delayed management. Information Promotion Region – Special Tour Guide: zhangqi1234. This month, the overall performance of the region remained stable. Moderator attendance: Most moderators actively participated in management duties; however, there were two moderators who did not meet the requirements. Outstanding individual moderator: ahua962. Regarding the maintenance of order on the forums and whether moderators fulfilled their responsibilities: Management of the General Information forum was somewhat delayed, while management in other sections was satisfactory. Aspects worthy of recognition and further encouragement: 1. To minimize overlap between different forums, several forums were consolidated. So far, this measure has proven effective, facilitating centralized management and the allocation of moderators ; 2. The regional team took proactive measures by highlighting certain price inquiry posts from manufacturers, thereby attracting promotional staff to pay attention. This is worthy of recognition. Areas for improvement and suggestions (no significant shortcomings, but offered as suggestions): 1. Greater control should be exercised over individual users who send large quantities of promotional messages in a short period of time ; 2. It is necessary to carefully identify posts with illegal promotional content that have come from the technical areas, and remove such unwanted content (posts that have nothing to do with the chemical industry should be deleted promptly). Petrochemical sector – Rotating edition: Refinery operators. 1. The separation lines between the hydrogen production and hydrogenation areas are not updated in a timely manner; there are still many unread posts below these separation lines ; The pre-processing section has a neat layout, with division lines added in a timely manner. The addition of real moderators has had a noticeable positive effect; please encourage the section leader to do so promptly! The catalytic section has a neat layout, with separators added in a timely manner. There are quite a few tasks arranged by the moderators; I hope the super moderators of this region can provide guidance promptly ; 【Petroleum Sector】The popular events in the petrochemical industry continue; with a good start, there is hope for a successful conclusion. The thread for experts to provide one-on-one answers is doing well. The amount of management work and online time for the wt2008 moderators are still among the best – thumbs up! ; The management of the deep processing section is timely, and the layout remains basically tidy. The experts from the technical team gave positive evaluations and responded in a timely manner! 2. Regarding the issue of managing divider lines, in some sections, updates still occur tardily; there are unread posts located below the divider lines. 3. It is recommended to strengthen the training of actual moderators’ management skills and boost their enthusiasm for participation in management tasks. The regional leaders should as soon as possible guide the enthusiastic full-time moderators to take on their roles, and distribute the tasks of part-time moderators as quickly as possible. 4. All moderators can actively participate in management; three actual moderators have a management volume of zero. Please communicate with sdwfsgyykai, the super moderator, regarding this. For registered regions and the touring enhanced versions such as the Refinery Operator version, the management of smaller versions like those with the technician title is still primarily handled by the Pingdan Shi enhanced version. 2. The management performance of two real* moderators is not satisfactory; please have Pingdan Shichao take care of it (the real* moderators aren’t putting in any effort). 3. The overall layout of the registered region is quite neat, but the separators in the Electrical Automation section have not been updated in a timely manner; please pay attention to this. 4. The real moderator of the Safety and Environment section, leping1987, has managed 1,400+ entries – this is worthy of praise; please give him some encouragement from Pingdan Shichao. Another official moderator is not performing well; please have a talk with them. 5. The registration campaigns for two consecutive months are coming to an end; overall operations have been good. It is hoped that the community task force will continue to work hard and keep making progress. Feedback on forum activities – Rotating special edition: MC0323. 1. So far, nearly 1,500 posts have been made regarding the PPT-related activities; the content is quite extensive and covers various industries. The management teams from the machinery and manufacturing sectors have shown high levels of participation, and it is hoped that other regions will also form groups to take part. There are many rewards available at the event sites. We also ask all uploaders to comply with the event rules: PPTs must not contain any company names, identical PPTs should not be uploaded repeatedly, and a single series should not be posted in multiple threads. I hope the person in charge of the revisions can handle things well, as the changes to the scoring criteria have caused some minor issues! 2. The “I’ll Check for Violations” initiative across the entire forum is a long-term activity; in fact, the inspection teams prefer that the management teams in each region take the initiative to better identify and handle violating posts ; 3. The “Where is Spring?” event in the Life category has concluded. Nearly 200 posts met the criteria; overall, it went quite well, although there were some communication issues toward the end ; 4. There are many popular activities in the petrochemical region; it is hoped that the regional managers will be able to motivate the regional management team fully to keep these activities going. 5. Call for submissions of essential knowledge from the machinery sector 【Seeking manufacturer sponsorship】 (ongoing campaign) 【Rewards for recommended valuable content】 http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1389197-1-1.html. The idea behind this campaign is good, but at present only the internal management team is involved; no manufacturers or other forum users have yet signed up to take part. 6. The registration campaign in the region, “For the 2014/2015 certification exam, I’d like to say...”, was a great initiative that the region was able to sustain. Currently, the campaign has come to an end. 7. The sample collection campaign “Plant hope, reap dreams” in the Information Promotion Zone enables more people to become aware of more professional products. It also helps manufacturers promote their products; thus, it is a win-win initiative worthy of praise. It is hoped that this activity will be continued in the long term and that the collected samples will be organized and compiled. There are currently only 10 posts; it should be more than 10 based on what can be seen. The person in charge is requested to update the summary post promptly. There are 22 people who have signed up, and it would be good to assign someone to keep track of them. 8. The information promotion section featured a series of posts on promotion experience discussions and my own promotion stories, but there were no summary posts nor any announcements about events. I hope it can be summarized in a timely manner. ★Summary and reminders from the Touring Team’s inspections of various regions in May 2015 ★ The purpose of the Forum Touring Team’s regular inspections of all regions is to create a harmonious and pleasant learning and communication environment for all members. Please ensure that the team in charge of regional management pays timely attention to the issues identified during inspections, and makes corrections where necessary or strives to improve in areas where no issues exist ; If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the work of the inspection team, you may post them at: http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-1312986-1-1.html 1. Building the moderator and technical teams is the top priority for the development of each region. It is recommended that all regions strengthen their basic management efforts (hiring suitable moderators and training competent teams), and guide the daily interactions within forums from a technical perspective. If organizing an event, it is recommended to focus on technical aspects; a thorough plan for task allocation should be in place before the event takes place, with proper guidance and appropriate scoring. 2. In May, new regional offices for safety and environmental affairs as well as those for universities were established; we invite everyone to pay attention to them. 3. The PPT contest is in its final month. We hope that management teams from all regions will continue to form teams and participate, as well as share more content. 4. The humanization of forum section management is relative; please, the regional management teams, make good use of actions such as deletion and muting. (If more than 10 posts violating the rules are posted in the same section consecutively, there is no need to edit each one and issue reminders or promote them; instead, those violators can be directly deleted and muted.)
